  Who we are

The Choir was founded by Arthur Bridgeman in 1986 because he did not want to stop when the Atlantic College Choir he was singing with took a summer holiday. It sang madrigals in his beautiful house attached to Beaupre Castle, hence the name.

The choir has had a number of conductors over the years, including one lady conductor.

We sing both sacred music and madrigals. We almost always sing a capella (unaccompanied), mainly pieces from Renaissance times, but with occasional excursions into the 19th and even 20th Centuries.

We have sung services in churches ranging in size from Landaff Cathedral to St.Peters, Old Cogan. We have sung in concerts, at weddings, at Christmas Tree Festivals in Penarth and Barry, and at our annual picnic in the open air back at Beaupre Castle.

Actually we just like singing, and that is the main reason we meet each week to sing.
